What do we do:

Accelerate global GDP by eliminating friction in B2B payments.

Every year, $10T is locked up in unpaid invoices, forcing companies to waste time, capital, and entire teams on chasing money they are owed. The system is broken—slow approvals, outdated portals, clunky software, and finance teams drowning in manual processes

Monk automates accounts receivables (AR). We start with collections, but we are building something much bigger: a frictionless B2B payment network that will redefine how money moves between businesses ($125T TAM).

What we believe about the world:

The way businesses move money today is insanely inefficient:

• B2B payments should move instantly. The fact that companies still wait 60+ days for cash is unacceptable.
• AI can eliminate human inefficiencies. Collections, approvals, reconciliations - these should happen in real time, not in months.
• Legacy players won’t fix this. HighRadius, BillTrust, and SAP are too slow. Their customers don’t love them and they can’t move fast enough to adapt. They are also going to have a hard time adding AI into their schema/workflows. There is no category winner here. We will make sure we win.
• Perfect technology/problem fit. LLMs are great at structuring data, OCR, and reasoning in the contract-to-cash workflow. LLMs make automation smarter, real-time payment rails are live (FedNow, RTP), and CFOs are desperate for better solutions.
• Hard problems are worth solving. Most hard things in life are worth doing and come with outsized rewards. Revenue/cashflow is the crux of capitalism. AR is anti-hype, high utility for the global economy, and net good for the world. Let's build a company we can tell our kids about with pride.
  • Plus, building any company is hard so we may as well go for the hardest hard.
• Insulated from the labs (for now - but we have to act now): we specifically picked a workflow (AR) that is not only a call option on building a large business because we do reads/writes (not just insights), but also a workflow that is (1) complex, (2) last mile is hard/requires nuanced agent harness, and (3) many integrations are required - all 3 mean that the labs are less likely to go for this vs. rest of app layer
• We will be the category winner.
